Kentucky’s Red Barn Radio will present their annual holiday concert this week, airing on Kentucky Educational Television (KET) and ABC36 in Lexington throughout the week.
Featured will be veteran Commonwealth bluegrass artists Hancock & Shouse, with a variety of special guests, in a program of Christmas and winter-themed music. They’ve technically missed the solstice by a day, but we won’t begrudge them that, as the duo and friends have put together a fine set of quality acoustic and bluegrass music.
Hancock & Shouse is Arthur Hancock and Chris Shouse, who we know from their time with The Wooks, The 23 String Band, and Wolfpen Branch. Among their guests on this week’s holiday extravaganza is Heidi Greer, an exceptional vocalist who performs with her husband as Heidi & Ryan.
As the Kentucky Winter Solstice special is pre-recorded, they have shared this set list, which nicely depicts the mix of material on offer.
