Randy Wood looks on as Headin’ Home shoots a music video at Randy’s Guitar Store
Headin’ Home, aka The Lindblom Family of eastern Georgia, have released a music video for their latest single, Randy’s Guitar Store.
The song is both a tribute to, and filmed at Randy Wood’s Guitars & Music Store, located just northwest of Savannah, near where the LIndbloms reside in Blommingdale. Operated by celebrated luthier Randy Wood, who has dedicated his life to building and repairing mandolins, guitars, and banjos, there is also an adjacent live performance venue known as The Pickin’ Parlor, where top touring acts stop in and play.
Consisting of mom and dad, Jon and Marina Lindlom on bass and fiddle, respectively, plus their oldest children, Libby on guitar, Lucy on mandolin, Timothy on banjo, and Luke on reso-guitar, Headin’ Home sings this song which celebrates Wood’s place in the local bluegrass scene as it describes what it’s like to visit.
Jon and Marina moved south from New England to accept jobs with the Savannah Symphony some years ago, and brought their children along to Georgia. They credit visits to Randy’s store as being an important influence on the whole family taking up bluegrass instruments and starting a band.
Randy’s Guitar Store was written for Headin’ Home by Russell Jones, who appears in the video among the jammers. It is included on the group’s most recent album, Rhythm of the Tires.
Jon sings the lead, with harmony vocals from Libby and Lucy. We see all the LIndbloms in the video, along with Randy, and fellow jammers Russell Jones, Tim Gaylor, Kevin Williamson, John Dubose, Gary Donaldson, and Bill and Pat Joyce.
It’s a joyous good time at Randy’s Guitar Store!
Randy’s Guitar Store, and the full Rhythm of the Tires album, are available directly from Headin’ Home online, in either audio CD or digital download formats. They can also be found at popular download and streaming services.
