People drops for Chosen Road

Thoroughbred Records have a new single for gospel bluegrass champions Chosen Road, one titled simply People.

Written by Jeffery East, James Ryan, and Larry White, the song aptly demonstrates the band’s skill in blending bluegrass instruments with contemporary Christian sensibilities, part of why they have proved so popular across such a wide swath of the listening public.

The lyrics share the message that wherever we are, whatever our livelihood may be, we’re all doing the best we can, and a word of encouragement or just a nod in each other’s direction can be a nice pick-me-up.

Guitarist and front man Jonathan Buckner shares of the new single…

People is a modern Americana song that moves between city streets and country roads, reflecting on everyday work, quiet faith, and the shared humanity that connects us all.”

Mandolinist Zachary Alvis sings lead on this one, with support from bandmates Buckner on guitar, Tyler Robertson on banjo, Chris Stockwell on reso-guitar, and Bradley Parsons on bass.
