Mountain View Night from Pam Setser, featuring Pat Wiley

Arkansas vocalist Pam Setser has a new single with Bell Buckle Records that celebrates the beauty of her hometown, Mountain View Night.

Pam is a well-known artist and personality in Mountain View, who received the Governor’s Arts Award in 2024 for her efforts on behalf of the music community there. Like so many bluegrass artists, she grew up in a family band, and even appeared on Hee-Haw as a child with her mom.

Mountain View Night was written by Pat Wiley, who composed it after performing there at their spring Folk Festival. Pat is a singer, guitarist, banjo player, and fiddler, and sings the song in duet with Pam on the single. In fact, it’s just he, Pam, and multi-instrumentalist Tim Crouch on the track, recorded in Tim’s studio in Arkansas.

Wiley says that the song was inspired by what he describes as the beauty and community spirit he found when he visited the city.

“I wanted to express the magic of Mountain View through this song. Working with Pam and Tim, who both bring their own unique talents to the table, has made this recording project a truly collaborative experience.”

Pam and Pat sing on the track, with Crouch contributing guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, and fiddle.

Have a listen in the music video for the single, which begins with a few seconds of the pickin’ on the square in Mountain View, before launching into the song.

Mountain View Night is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct.
