Huss & Dalton introduce Valley guitars

Huss & Dalton have just introduced a new line of their handcrafted, solid-wood guitars, made in their shop in Staunton, VA.

The Valley series, named for the beautiful Shenandoah Valley where they live, is designed as less costly than their top-of-the-line guitars, but still made to exacting professional standards. They call it a working class guitar – no flash, all substance.

Solid woods are employed for the body, Sitka spruce for the tops, and either mahogany or Indian rosewood for the back and sides. Appointments are understated, with binding only on the top of the guitar and a fairly simple soundhole rosette.

They are completed with a satin finish with a black sunburst top.

The Valley guitars can be ordered in either a dreadnaught or OM body style, shipped in a hardshell case, for only $2,995.

Upgrades are available on request, like an Adirondack red spruce top for another $1,000.

One imagines they are using wood that may not be of the highest grade, but given that their guitars typically sell in the $5,000-$7,000 range, this is quite an accomplishment.
