Mountain Fever Records has announced the signing of veteran bluegrass singer, songwriter, and guitarist Shannon Slaughter.

The Florida native has spent a good portion of his life in bluegrass, living for a while in Virginia where he worked with Melanie Cannon, Lost and Found, and Lonesome River Band, before moving to Alabama where he currently resides. Along the way he spent some time with Alan Bibey & Grasstowne and Larry Stephenson, contributing songs to other artists while recording many of them himself.

Amanda Cook, President of Mountain Fever, says that Slaughter has some great new music being finished in the studio now.

“I am absolutely thrilled to welcome Shannon Slaughter to the Mountain Fever family. Shannon brings years of experience, incredible vocals, and a true love for this music. We can’t wait to share the new music he’s cooking up—it captures who he is as an artist, and is something we’re incredibly excited to release.”

Cook also suggested that more news and about Shannon and Mountain Fever will be coming soon. Can’t wait!
