The partnership between reso-guitarist and vocalist Darren Beachley and bass player Kyle Windbeck has generated another single for Huckleberry Records.
It’s a new song called My Delilah, which references the story of Samson and Delilah from the Book of Judges to describe a man’s weakness before the woman he loves.
Darren says he’s been waiting a while for the right time to record this one.
“My Delilah, written by Paula Breedlove and Brad Davis, is a song I have carried around for quite a few years. I always loved the chord progression and the minor feel to it. The message references Samson and Delilah (it’s not gospel) and how the seductive power of a woman can bring even the strongest of men to their knees, and how it can become an addiction.
It’s a story as old as the Bible.”
Beachley sings lead and plays reso-guitar, but Windbeck does the yeoman’s work on this track, adding guitar, mandolin, and bass. Taylor Parks is on banjo and Stephen Burwell on fiddle. Kyle and Taylor provide the harmony vocals.
