Ruby from Dailey & Vincent

They’re baaaaack…. like we always knew they would be.

Dailey & Vincent, who at one time dominated the bluegrass world with their brilliant lead and harmony singing, have released a new bluegrass track, their tribute to The Osborne Brothers with Ruby. It’s the debut single from what they describe as a “new bluegrass album,” something that bluegrass folks will surely await with great anticipation.

In truth, Dailey & Vincent had never gone anywhere, though their focus seemed less bluegrass of late. They’ve become Grand Ole Opry members, and have a popular television program, which sees them singing and playing traditional country and gospel music as much as bluegrass. But no one could doubt their grassy street cred. Jamie Dailey did his nine-year apprenticeship with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, while Darrin Vincent was spending a decade with Ricky Skaggs. And that was after Darrin had grown up, with his sister Rhonda, performing with their parents in The Sally Mountain Show.

Speaking of this latest release, the guys say…

Ruby feels like coming home for us. Bluegrass has always been at the heart of everything we do, and this song allowed us to lean fully into that – tight harmonies, acoustic drive, and the kind of storytelling that first made us fall in love with the genre. It’s not about chasing the past, but honoring it in a way that still feels honest to who we are today.”

They have put the song into high gear with an all-star cast behind them. Jamie sings the lead and tenor vocal, while Darrin plays bass and sings the baritone part. Bryan Sutton is on guitar, Dominic Leslie plays mandolin, Andy Leftwich is on fiddle, and Russ Carson on banjo.

Grab hold of something solid and give it a listen.

Ruby is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via Get It Played.
