Travelin’ McCourys seeking Young Guns for their 2026 tour

The Travelin’ McCourys are coming your way this spring, with a new tour titled Young Guns.

The theme is highlighting young musicians worthy of notice, giving opportunities to the next generation of bluegrass artists, just as they received as young men performing with The Del McCoury Band.

A great example is Heaven McCoury, son of Ronnie McCoury, who plays mandolin and sings with The Travelin’ McCourys. Heaven performs often with his dad’s, and his grandfather’s band, and the guys want to share the same spotlight for other young pickers.

Ronnie explains their thinking.

“My dad showed us what it really means to pass the torch, by trusting the next generation and giving them room on the bandstand. The Young Guns Tour comes straight out of that spirit, and out of DelFest, where the music goes beyond simply being shared. It’s well-respected and it’s handed down. It’s about making sure bluegrass keeps moving forward the right way.”

Before the tour gets cranking, they are asking fans, friends, venues, and promoters to share with them other young artists of note that might be worthy of being featured on the Young Guns dates. They are especially hoping that folks in the spots they’ll be hitting this spring will recommend budding pickers and singers to consider.
