Thanks to Mike Higgins with Bluegrass Canada, the magazine of the Bluegrass Music Association of Canada, for sharing this look at what a big year Jackson Hollow has had in 2025.

Jackson Hollow showcases the bluegrass genre to those waiting to discover it, while respecting the pioneers who started it. Their authentic, timeless sound connects with people across generations and borders.

A milestone season for Jackson Hollow — one that has seen the band travel thousands of miles, perform on legendary stages, release a heartfelt new single, and proudly represent Canada at the IBMA World of Bluegrass. From intimate showcase rooms in Chattanooga to the bright lights of Nashville’s Station Inn, Jackson Hollow continues to bridge the heart of traditional bluegrass with the polished artistry of the modern era.

Carrying the Canadian Flag at IBMA

This fall, Jackson Hollow attended the International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass, held this year in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The event offered an unparalleled opportunity to showcase Canadian talent on the world stage. “It’s amazing to be surrounded by people who share the same love for bluegrass,” says fiddler Mike Sanyshyn. “We’re proud to bring a bit of Canada to it, and to connect with folks who truly get what this music is about.”

The band performed multiple times throughout the week — including an Official Showcase, an International Showcase, and several late-night performances hosted by labels and presenters. They were also nominated for the IBMA Momentum Band of the Year and performed on the Momentum Awards Show, sharing the stage with some of the brightest rising stars in bluegrass.

A Night at the Legendary Station Inn

Following IBMA, Jackson Hollow headed to Nashville for a debut at The Station Inn, one of the most respected rooms in bluegrass. It’s a venue where history isn’t just remembered — it’s felt in the music and the audience that shows up for it.  “Playing our own material there was a real milestone for us,” says vocalist Tianna Lefebvre. “It’s a room every bluegrass artist hopes to step into.”

Thank God for the Radio — A Tribute to Timeless Music

In September, Jackson Hollow released their new single, Thank God for the Radio, on Mountain Fever Records. With warm harmonies and heartfelt delivery, the song celebrates the magic of discovering music over the airwaves.

Thank God for the Radio is Jackson Hollow’s heartfelt homage to The Kendalls, and a nod to the golden days of spinning the dial, riding in the backseat while your favorite song played, or putting a track on repeat during your first solo drive. Jackson Hollow holds a deep connection to that era and hopes this song brings listeners back to a time when the radio was the main way we discovered music that moved us.

“We all grew up with the radio on,” says Tianna. “It introduced us to the music that shaped who we are. This song is really a thank-you to the stations and DJs who have kept those classics alive — and to the fans who still tune in.”

Honors and Heart

Recent years have brought recognition, including IBMA Momentum nominations, a 2024 Juno nomination, and honors from the Canadian Folk Music Awards and BC Country Music Awards. But for Jackson Hollow, the goal remains connection over accolades.

“Every time we get on stage, we want people to feel something real,” Tianna says. “If the songs connect, then we’ve done our job.”

A Canadian Voice on the Global Stage

As they continue to tour, record, and share their music, Jackson Hollow remains deeply proud of their Canadian roots. They see every opportunity as a way to show that Canadian bluegrass belongs shoulder-to-shoulder with the best in the world.

With a new album on the horizon in spring of 2026 and more live shows to come, including Ontario’s Galop Canal Bluegrass Festival, Jackson Hollow’s journey is far from over. One thing is clear: Jackson Hollow isn’t just making bluegrass; they’re helping shape its future, one song at a time.
