The latest single from Americana hero Jim Lauderdale is a bluegrass weeper, Little Bitty Diamonds, which he wrote with Odie Blackmon, and recorded with The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys.
The song’s title refers to teardrops falling down the face of your beloved, which JIm says is what they started out with.
“My friend Odie Blackmon brought this great jewel of a title and let me climb aboard the train. When the Po’ Ramblin’ Boys and I started recording, they took a shine to it, and everything fell into place as we started the record.”
The Boys, of course, are C.J. Lewandowski on mandolin, Jereme Brown on banjo, Jasper Lorentzen on bass, John Gooding on guitar, and Max Silverstein on fiddle. C.J. and Jereme add harmony vocals.
